Your digital guest portal contains a wide range of useful information, including all the hotel facilities and services, access to our menus, our feedback system, in-room request system and details about our safety procedures.

Guest Directory
Whatever your reason for visiting, our team are here to do everything we can to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Your digital Guest Services Directory contains a wide range of useful information, including all the hotel facilities and services as well as safety procedures we have to ensure your safety and security.
Accommodation
Up to two children aged 15 and under will be accommodated complementary on a B&B basis when sharing with two adults.
A supplement of £15 applies when only one adult is in the room. Additional children will be charged at £15 per night B&B.
To accommodate a family in our bedrooms, in some cases a foldaway bed will be used. Should you require a cot, please ask at the time of booking.
Meals
Children aged 5 and under can eat free of charge from the kids menu when with a full paying adult who must order at least one main course from the full priced menu. Maximum of 1 free child per paying adult.
Children, 6 years or older pay full rates for meals as taken.
Family dining times may apply
Our hotel conducts fire drills for the safety of employees and guests alike. The fire alarm is tested twice at 11:30am every Tuesday; there is no need to evacuate unless the alarm continues for longer than 30 seconds or you are advised to evacuate by staff.
Please familiarise yourself with the fire evacuation instructions on the back of your guest bedroom door which include directions to your nearest emergency exit. In the event of the fire alarms being activated please leave the building via your nearest escape route.
• Do not stop to collect personal belongings
• Assemble at the evacuation point on the grassed area (Howard Square) located outside the main hotel entrance
If you discover a fire, please activate the nearest break-glass point to raise the alarm or contact reception by dialing ‘0’ from your bedroom phone.
If you have been issued with a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan, please follow the instructions given.
Check-in time is from 3.00pm onwards with guests required to check-out by:
10:30am Monday - Friday
Midday on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays.
Should you require a late check-out please contact reception who will advise you of the availability and charge.
We operate a system of assisted escape and if you believe you will require any form of assistance during an evacuation, please contact reception who will issue you with a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan specific to your needs.
We would like to bring to your attention a number of features we have in place to enhance your safety and security. Please familiarise yourself with these as they could save your life in the event of a fire or other emergency.
We have audible smoke detectors, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers in hallways and public areas, automatic fire doors and door deadbolts.
May we also draw your attention to the Hotel Proprietors Act, which states that hotel proprietors cannot be held responsible for any valuables left unattended in guest rooms or in the bedroom safes provided. Further details are displayed at Reception.
When your bedroom is being cleaned by housekeeping, unidentified guests and personnel will not be able to enter your bedroom. All hotel service personnel clearly identify themselves when knocking on a bedroom door. Guests should exercise caution prior to opening their bedroom door if the clear identification has not occurred.
Should you lose your bedroom key or key card, please advise the hotel reception immediately who will issue you with a replacement. Please note that identification will be requested when issuing replacement keys.
If you are concerned with any suspicious packages or persons around the hotel, please inform reception where the appropriate action will be taken.
Please be advised that an extensive CCTV system is in operation at these premises. Images are being recorded for the purpose of crime prevention and public and staff safety.
The temperature in your room is controlled using a panel on the wall which in most cases is located near the entrance door. By pushing the up and down arrows it allows you to select the temperature you are most comfortable with. Please note that it may take a few minutes for your room to reach the desired temperature. The maximum temperature is 26c.
The air-conditioning unit will not work if the doors and windows are open.
Alternatively, if you prefer we can supply extra duvets or a portable heater to your room, just ask reception and they will be happy to help.
Please note that when your key card is removed from the silver activation slot, the unit will switch itself off.
The View Hotel Eastbourne understands that every guest has different needs and we aim to make our facilities available and accessible to all of our customers equally. In rare instances where this is not possible we will endeavor to offer a suitable alternative.

The Vista Bar Café is a is a great place to relax and unwind with family, friends or colleagues with stunning views over the coast and the Wish Tower, offering a menu with a mix of traditional and popular choices.
Be aware that our opening times are subject to change throughout the year. Please speak to our friendly team for the current times.
If you spot something in your room or around the hotel that you think needs attention or fixing, please notify reception so they can arrange for this to be rectified as soon as possible.
The hotel does not have car parking facilities, however you may purchase an on street parking voucher from reception.
PLEASE NOTE you will be required to ensure you are parked in the correct zone on the street, which you do by checking the signage on the street where you are parked.

Travel cots are available free of charge from the hotel subject to availability and are provided with the appropriate bedding. Please contact reception for more information.

We would be happy to provide you with those little necessities that you may have forgotten to bring with you such as a dental kit, shower cap, shaving or mending kit. Press `0` on the phone to speak to reception who will be happy to arrange for these items to be delivered to your room.
If you don’t want to be disturbed, simply hang the ‘do not disturb’ sign on the outside of your bedroom door. Please be aware to put the correct side of the sign on the door as the other side is asking for the room to be cleaned.
If the do not disturb hanger is displayed, we will respect your privacy and your room will not be serviced. In the interests of safety each of the guest bedrooms will be checked once in every 24hr period, initially by phone and if no answer, by a visual inspection.
We welcome all well-mannered dogs. A charge of £15 per dog per night will apply and must be booked with our reservations team 48 hours in advance to your arrival date.
We do allow assistance dogs to stay free of charge.
We have various bedrooms in the hotel located on the 5th floor that are dog friendly, for different guest needs and preferences. If you would like to bring your dog, please contact reservations directly prior to your stay to add our dog package, rooms are allocated on a first come first serve basis, by request. If our dog-friendly floor is full we have met our full capacity for dog-friendly rooms and will be unable to approve your request.
The hotel will accept a maximum of 2 pets in a single bedroom at one time. Please note, the dog charge applies per dog per night. Our furry friends will be provided with a bed and a bowl in the bedroom for use during your stay.
Guests will be required to place a “Dog in Room” sign on their bedroom door during the stay, this will ensure our team especially our housekeepers are aware of your dog being present.
Your dog is permitted in your bedroom, and whilst walking in and out of the hotel, we ask that your dog is kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are not permitted in public areas of the hotel, with the exception of entering and leaving the hotel through the reception lobby. The outdoor patio is the designated area (subject to availability) should you wish to relax with your dog.
During your stay, you must not leave your dog unattended in the room or any other hotel areas at any time.
For the safety and comfort of your dog and safety of staff, Housekeeping or any other staff member will enter the room only if: (a) the pet is not present, or (b) Guest is present and can monitor the dog (dogs must be on a lead)
We reserve the right to require immediate removal of any dog that displays dangerous or unacceptable behavior, including, but not limited to, biting, excessive noise (such as barking), evidence of disease, or urination/defecation in public areas.
There will be a penalty should the pet damage anything in the bedroom during their stay.

Simply fill in the dry cleaning form and laundry bag provided in your room and hand it to reception by 8.00am for same day return. This service is available Monday to Friday. Please note this service is not available on weekends or Bank Holidays.
Our team can provide information on local public transport or taxis, please contact reception via `0`on your in-room phone, or come down and have a chat. Alternatively you can access local area information from your laptop free of charge via the in-room Wi-Fi access.
Guests wishing to leave staff gratuities are requested to do so at reception, where we hold a central fund which is then divided between all the hotel team.
Our team is committed to environmental responsibility and waste minimization by adopting good practices related to our social, environmental and economic impact. Our priority is for you to have an enjoyable and comfortable stay, but should you wish to help us deliver on our environmental goals, please read on to see how you can make a difference.
Be water wise – Please use water wisely. Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth and work with us on our towel policy (towels will only be changed if they are left inside the bath or on the floor).
Conserve energy – Reduce energy by switching off lights when leaving the room, and close all windows if the heating is on.
Give the car a rest – Leave the car behind, if only for a day. Walk, cycle or use public transport. Ask at reception for local transport times.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Try to avoid overly packaged goods and say no to that extra carrier bag. Try and recycle any waste you have.
Respect nature – Help us look after the landscape and wildlife by not littering; guarding against fire and using footpaths and cycle routes responsibly.
Shop local – Use local products. They give you a flavour of the area and help support the local community.
The Last Straw – We’ve put away drinking straws and stirrers to reduce plastic waste and the impact it has on our environment and oceans. We have replaced plastic straws with biodegradable paper straws and we’d love for you to support us on our mission.
The Vitality Fitness Gym located on the Mezzanine Floor is open to overnight guests 24/7
The hairdryer can be found in the drawer below the desk in your bedroom.
Your bedroom will not be accessed by anyone from the point of being sanitised, until you open the door for the first time. Your room will be fully cleaned and sanitised before your arrival.
If at any time you require additional towels, tea supplies etc. please contact reception by dialling ’0’ from your bedroom phone, and these will be delivered.
Ice is available via room service 24/7. Please contact room service on 2910, if you require ice to be brought to your room.
Iron and ironing boards are available in all rooms and are located in the wardrobe area.
Wireless internet is available to our guests 24 hours throughout the hotel free of charge. Simply open your device settings and connect to “The View WI-FI” network.

The hotel accepts no liability for guest items left in the building. When contacted we will, however, make every effort to locate lost items and return them to you subject to reimbursement for any postage charges.
For assistance with your luggage or should you wish to leave luggage with us for a few hours after check-out time, please call down to our reception team who will be happy to arrange this for you.
Please note luggage storage can only be provided whilst you are a resident of the Hotel.
Reception will be happy to post items for you. The cost of postage can be added to your room bill.
If you are unwell, please contact reception who will gladly help you arrange medical assistance.
You can call the NHS non-emergency line 24 hours a day on 111 for round the clock help and medical advice. Please remember to dial ‘9’ first for an outside line.

To place an order with our room service team please dial 2910. Room Service is available from our room service menu which can be viewed here, 24 hours a day (with limited items from 10pm-10am.) We aim to deliver room service within 30 minutes, however, at busy or twilight times this may be longer.
A £3.00 tray charge will be applied.
If you would like to have breakfast served in your room please call the room service line who will be happy to take your order.
Should you require any further information on the hotel and its facilities as well as local attractions our reception team will be delighted to advise you. Our reception desk is manned 24hrs a day. Please note that from midnight the main entrance will be; please use room key to gain access or utilise the night entrance telephone to notify the night team of your presence and they will then come to let you in. You may be asked to present your keycard as proof of residence.
For the comfort of guests and to comply with UK Smoking Laws, The View Hotel has been designated as a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is only permitted in the smoking area located outside the Vista Bar Café in the designated area and on the balcony located on the Mezzanine floor. Smoking or vaping in a guest bedroom is against the law. This includes the guest bedroom balconies and will incur an environmental cleaning charge of £200, which will either be automatically added to the guest bill or retrospectively charged upon guest departure.
Should you need to order a taxi, please call our reception team by dialling ‘0’ from your in-room phone who will be happy to help. Please note that during peak times it could take up to 30 minutes for a taxi to arrive.
All of our guest bedrooms come equipped with telephones which can be used by our guests. To dial an outside line, please dial ‘9’ followed by the number you are trying to reach. To dial another guest bedroom, please dial ‘2’ followed by the room number. To contact reception, please do so by dialling ‘0’.
With over 90 freeview channels that can be accessed via the ‘guide’ button on your remote control, there is many options to keep everyone entertained. Once you have selected your channel press ‘guide’ again to access.
